National Health IT Week is a nationwide awareness week “focused on catalyzing actionable change within the U.S. health system through the application of information and technology.” It was founded by the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and the Institute for e-Policy, and this year it was celebrated between October 8-12.
To help celebrate #NHITWeek, members of FDRHPO staff submitted blog posts to HIMSS to be published in their website. Each article highlighted a different Health IT success in the North Country, and we are proud to share that one was published!
Ian Francis, our Practice Transformation Specialist, had his blog post selected by HIMSS and published on their website on September 28. His article, titled “A Shared System of Health for Soldiers, Their Families and Veterans,” details how Health IT has been used in the North Country to link the electronic medical records of community healthcare providers with those used by healthcare providers on Fort Drum.
