Clarkson University to Host 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony

St. Lawrence County First Responders,

Please share this invitation and join us if your schedule permits on Wednesday, September 11, as the Clarkson University campus community, alumni attending Career Fair and members of the local community gather at Clarkson’s World Trade Center Memorial Sculpture at 8:25 a.m. for the annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony. The memorial is located across the road from the Rowley Laboratories building (#14 on the campus map).

The event is open to the public and members of local rescue squads, fire or police departments, the military, and veterans are invited to attend and be in uniform if they choose. Parking is available across the road in the Educational Resources Center (ERC) parking lot (#17 on the map). The rain location is our Student Center.

Clarkson’s ROTC units will be presenting the colors at the Remembrance Ceremony. For those who are interested, the ROTC Units are also leading a 3-K Golden Knight Battalion run earlier in the morning with the local veterans community, local PD and FD, and others. They will be leaving the Cheel Arena Parking lot at 5:45 a.m. This is not a race, and the pace is a ten-to-twelve minute mile.

For squads that also want to save the date, we will be sending later in our semester the registration information for our Volunteer First Responders Appreciation Night, which will take place on Friday, February 21, 2020, for the Golden Knights Men’s Ice Hockey Team vs. Dartmouth College in Cheel Arena that evening.

If you have any questions, please give our office a call at 315-268-4483. Thank and thank you for all that you do for our campus, employees, friends, and neighbors in our great North Country community.
