Garrett Loomis Educational Series Announces 2020 Program

The Garrett Loomis Educational Series has announced the program for its Spring 2020 seminar. Scheduled for April 25, 2020 at Jefferson Community College, the seminar will feature “Mindset of a Survivor,” a presentation designed to empower staff members and give them the confidence to effectively respond to an active shooter incident.

Developed and taught by SWAT Team Operators, Homeland Security, retired Navy SEALs and retired Delta Force Operators, the presentation offers a thorough, interactive discussion of relevant topics, beginning with the history of active shooter incidents and associated statistics. It will also discuss how important mindset and awareness are during these events, as well as prevention tactics, what the critical decision making process is, and more.

The Garrett Loomis Education Series has hosted nationally recognized authors and presenters annually for the past eight years. The seminar is free to all who attend, through a grant from the Garrett W. Loomis Foundation and the Northern New York Community Foundation. The Garrett W. Loomis Foundation is committed to enhancing fire safety education regionally, providing opportunities for individuals or organizations driven to positively impact our local communities.
