The Fort Drum Regional Health Planning Organization and HealtheConnections are pleased to host two Health Information Exchange (HIE) Symposiums this May.
An electronic health information exchange (HIE) allows doctors, nurses, pharmacists, other health care providers and patients to appropriately access and securely share a patient’s vital medical information electronically —improving the speed, quality, safety and cost of patient care. 1
The first event will take place Wednesday, May 8, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Watertown, and the second will be held on Thursday, May 16, at the University Best Western in Canton. Both events will run from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
HealtheConnections is constantly adding new features and functions to the HIE, so these symposiums are suitable for both HIE pros and new users. Presentations will feature Patient Lookup — a medical record lookup tool — and myAlerts — the clinical notification service. Presenters have years of knowledge working with the HIE and will be sharing their expertise as well as providing live demonstrations.
Both symposiums will also include panel of local HIE users, who will discuss real-life use cases and describe how the HIE has integrated into — or greatly improved — their workflows. Panels will be open to questions from the audience.
Come join us to gather with your peers, hear from industry leaders, and enjoy lunch while you learn how HealtheConnections can help you securely exchange health information, improve your workflow, and provide great care!
