Dear Providers and Agency Leadership:
As some of you may have noticed, the 2019 Collaborative Protocol App update went through prior to the expected release date. With that being said, the major changes are BLS-related to better integrate the BLS Protocols with the ALS Collaborative Protocols. Also, remember that all providers, regardless of your level of care, need to complete the NYS BLS Protocol update by the end of the year.
Within the near future, there will be an ALS update and simple test that will need to be completed for the 2019 Collaborative ALS protocols. The exam will be located online in the CME system and all AEMT, Critical Care, and Paramedic providers will be required to complete an exam for their level of care. At this time, please start familiarizing yourself with the protocols. You may use either set until the completion of the educational update that will be due December 31st. There were changes in the Tylenol and Ibuprofen dosing charts at the September 2019 meeting that are updated in the app but not on the NYS DOH website.
