A Certified Lab Instructor (CLI) course will be hosted by Jefferson County EMS from Friday, March 22 through Sunday, March 24 at the Bruce M. Wright Memorial Conference Center in Watertown.
To be eligible for certification, all candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Complete an Application for Instructor Certification (DOH-2260)
- Hold current certification as an NYS EMT or higher
- Be actively providing ongoing, hands-on, pre-hospital patient care with a NYS Certified EMS Agency at the EMT level or higher for at least one year in the last three years. This will be documented by assuring that the candidate’s name is listed on the agency’s roster and patient care reports. If the CLI candidate is planning to teach ADVANCED level courses, the candidate must be actively providing care within a regionally approved ALS system at the level they with to teach, or higher.
- Submit a letter of recommendation from the course sponsor who will be providing the instructor internship
