  • One (1) support person will be permitted to accompany patients in the Emergency Department.
      • The support person will be asked to wait in the car until the patient’s COVID test is resulted.

  • The support person must remain in the patient’s treatment room for the entire visit.

  • All support persons must be screened for COVID-19 symptoms (Temperature check, and verbalization of not meeting quarantine criteria)

  • Patients under the age of 21 may have one parent/guardian as an essential support person unless extenuating circumstances exist.

  • Patients with an LVAD (Left Ventricular Assistive Device) will be allowed to have a support person with them immediately upon arrival. (Regardless of any COVID-like symptoms)

Please encourage the patient to have a Support Person who can help facilitate care and is knowledgeable of medications, dosages, etc.

**When entering the facility with the patient, please ask the Patient Support Person to enter via the front Emergency Department entrance, where they can be screened and receive a printed badge printed from Security. There will be a delay (approx. 10-15 mins) before joining the patient in the room.
